
Richard Kelsey - President/CEO
Mr. Richard Kelsey has been building information technology
organizations since 1980. He founded Data Engines, Inc., a
manufacturer of firewalls and other security products. The
company was self-funded and profitable in its first year of
operation. The strong first year performance formed the basis of
a $9.5M venture capital infusion. The company enjoyed a market
capitalization of $55M within 18 months of startup. In addition to
his founding role, Richard took an active part in managing the
firm, directing sales and marketing management and securing
reseller agreements with such tier 1 firms as NEC, EMC, and
company, Richard started and ran, an applications and
networking consulting firm with a long string of successful
engagements with large enterprises and governmental
agencies. He was also COO for Digital Laboratory Corporation,
a manufacturer of microcomputer subassemblies for
distributors, resellers and Fortune 500 companies worldwide.
Mr. Kelsey graduated from Mount San Antonio College - QC
Management, UARCO - Business Sales Management and
attended Chapman University - Business Administration.
James Parker, PhD - Chief Technical Officer
Dr. James Parker began his technical career in 1958. He was
the youngest Associate Programmer at IBM in 1964, working at
the Systems Development Division, Poughkeepsie, NY on
Operating System 360 and under the direction of Frederick
Brooks (author of The Mythical Man-Month). In 1970 he earned a
PhD in Computer Science at the University of Illinois, from what
is now the National Center for Supercomputing Applications,
home of Mosaic (now known as Netscape), Plato (now known
as Lotus Notes), and the Eudora mail system. Dr Parker’s PhD
was funded by ARPANET, which was the maiden name for the
Internet. His advisor was Dr. Daniel Slotnick, inventor of the first
supercomputer (Iliac IV) that leveraged the power of the Internet.
Dr. Parker was offered his professorship while teaching
Computer Science at the University of British Columbia in
Vancouver, BC. Dr Parker created a computer laboratory in
Northern Nevada that could show the power of multiple
computing technologies integrating and inter-playing with each
other.
Warren Tripp, Board Member
President of Tripp Enterprises, Inc., grew up in Reno, attending
local schools, including Reno High School and University of
Nevada,Reno. Warren began working at Tripp as a young boy
assigned to sweep floors, clean equipment, and eventually
make deliveries. He worked in every department and developed
business acumen that led to the growth of the business. By
1990 Warren, as president, moved from his 5500 square foot
facility to a 20,000 square foot space that today now
encompasses over 200,000 square feet. From it's origin Tripp
Plastics has grown from plastic fabrication of primarily gaming
equipment to a lean manufacturing company with eleven
individual departments, including design, engineering, and
contract manufacturing. Tripp Enterprises is now a full service,
turnkey facility that is FDA/ISO registered and committed to help
create, develop and produce the tools needed to create an
ecologically friendly world. To reflect growth and to serve the
needs of the 21st Century, Warren Tripp and Tripp Enterprises
continue to turn ideas into reality.
