
SunScience Corporation has designed a technology that integrates a
unique lens design with existing high efficiency photovoltaic technology
to deliver electricity at half the cost of existing solar technology. In order to
achieve the best cost results without intensive capital investment,
SunScience is utilizing strategic partners for contract manufacturing.
SunScience's supply chain consists of key suppliers for high efficiency
triple junction cells, lenses, and balance of system components.
SunScience Corporation has designed the SunScience Technology
platform to balance cost and efficiency with an optimized CPV product
with unprecedented installed cost per watt.
The SunScience Technology is made of light weight material and can
mount directly to the roof without a significant roof load issues The
approximate weight of a 4 x 8 ft section is 60 lbs.
SunScience' s lens technology takes advantage of low cost manufacturing
techniques and materials that last over 10 years. The low cost of lens
production enables very low cost lens replacement to extend the life of the
SunScience Technology for an additional 10 years or if any damage
occurs to any lens.
The SunScience Technology product combines four distinct optical and
geometric properties to create a solar collector system that significantly
increases solar power generation.
• Multiple curved lens collectors refract sunlight to receptor
photovoltaic cells.
• A fixed lens system eliminates costly dual axis tracking of heavy lens
and mirror arrays. The current design uses a simple internal mechanism for
the automatic positioning of the high efficient PV cells to maximize the
sun’s rays (sun-flowering) and reduce the number of collectors required.
• Non-imaging Fresnel lens technology provides solar energy
concentration.
• Flexible Fresnel panels maximize solar collection.
